Trap bounce midi drum kit free9/3/2023 ![]() As I said, mixing drums can be quite time-consuming. The bolded TDLR above is a short-form version of how to mix drums in Garageband, but there are other things we’re going to look into too. Before we get to it though, here’s a brief summary of one way to approach drum mixing in Garageband:ġ) Properly label and organize every part of the kitģ) Add compression where needed for dynamicsĤ) Set up low and high-pass filters to make space for other frequenciesĥ) Shape dynamics and transients with MIDI, noise gates & velocity A couple of them apply to all instruments, but some of them are specific to drums. That said, understanding a few core principles and tips can save you a lot of time and I’ll make sure to share many of them in this post through demonstration. Considering there are so many parts to the kit, it can take a while to go through each and make sure everything is properly panned, balanced, and mixed to make the project sound as good as it can. ![]() ![]() The part that makes it so difficult is mostly the time it takes. ![]() Getting the drums right is probably one of the harder aspects of mixing, in my view. ![]()
